Nonprofit Squarespace website redesign
The Tulo Centre of Indigenous Economics is an organization dedicated to empowering Indigenous communities through education and resources focused on economic development and self-governance.
The Centre collaborates with a diverse range of local, national, and international organizations and governments including Thompson Rivers University and the M.I.T. Harvard Public Disputes Program.
The Tulo Centre aimed to revamp their website by transitioning from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1, seeking a modern and cohesive appearance, enhanced content organization, updated course pages, and a more intuitive user experience. This was particularly important for streamlining course registration and providing easier access to their extensive resources, such as blog content, podcasts, video series, and more.
Squarespace features & modern design
Several Squarespace features were used throughout the website including a blog for sharing news and updates, a dedicated page for hosting a video series, a podcast section, and an events calendar. These additions enhanced the website's functionality, providing visitors with a more comprehensive and engaging experience.
The redesigned website simplifies the registration process by providing easy access to the course enrollment form directly from the course details page. This streamlined approach reduces barriers for users who wish to sign up for a course, enhancing the overall user experience.
Clear CTAs & improved user experience
Clear call-to-action (CTA) buttons were incorporated throughout the website to guide users towards desired actions, such as enrolling in courses or accessing resources. These CTAs were strategically placed to ensure that visitors could easily find and engage with the content most relevant to their needs.
The website's redesign successfully achieved a more intuitive user experience by implementing a clean layout, clear navigation, and visually appealing design elements. The main menu is structured with categories such as "Courses," "Partnerships," "Resources," and "News & Events," which allow users to easily find the information they need. The use of images, headings, and concise text throughout the website also contributes to a more digestible and enjoyable browsing experience.
